About Us
Our Story
Michael Hunter acquired Bracton® Industries after he had been involved in the creation of his Family Business Hunter Chemicals, located in Melbourne and was a Founding Director with the Tamar Group. Michael then developed SoSafe™ Specialty Products which became a world leader in Graffiti Removers and Shields, and still has a strong presence in the mining industry and Mould Removal products. It also was the first company to create a disc SDS/MSDS program for laboratory chemicals for NSW Hospitals, Schools, and Universities, and supplied laboratory agents to the NSW Government. For over 55 years Bracton® Industries has manufactured Bracton® Chemicals, since 1984. Bracton® Chemicals has established itself as a trusted and proven leader in beer hygiene through its’ innovative beer line cleaner known famously as Bracton® DP1 and DP2, premium beer line cleaner, two-part beer line cleaner with superior results and BractonSafe® glass washing. Bracton® then recognised the need for its’ products in the Restaurant Hospitality field and acquired, ecowash Systems from Darren Brighton (now BTG) which allowed Bracton®’s Owner Specialist Chemist Michael Hunter to formulate a full range of Hospitality chemicals (Bracton® acquired ecowash in 1996). Ecowash has developed into a Specialist Health and Safety supplier for correct usage of products with the lowest risk for end users. Bracton® changed the Australian method of beer line cleaning when it created its’ Bracton® Dosatron beer line cleaning proven system, which was promptly adopted by CUB and Toohey’s to be introduced nationally for all venues, based on Health and Safety over the traditional wash out keg. Over 2,000 systems were purchased and installed nationally, and Bracton® then acquired the Australian distribution of Dosatron in 2004. Further development Bracton® achieved was a State Award for Health and Safety with its’ new non-hazardous Craft Beer Line Cleaner which was instantly adopted by CUB and Coca Cola for removing the hazards of beer line cleaning in Australia with excellent results. At the beginning of 2004, whilst developing a new gassing system in conjunction with Dosatron Europe, Bracton® had a strong relationship with Allied Beer Systems, who were the exclusive CUB Beer Systems supplier nationally under contract. The company had expanded rapidly; however, it was unfortunate that it was under funded and Bracton® saw the opportunity to enter the beer and beverage equipment industry. A new era was formed, and Michael Hunter’s son, Joel Hunter commenced the journey of competing with multi-national companies such as Lancer and later Micro Matic. Our focus is on the quality of products, longevity, safety issues and sales and service in the industry, Bracton® was cleaning. |
